An Arizona man celebrated being four months sober — by getting so drunk he ended up in jail, according to reports.
Jackson Brady Hanley Jr., 29, was busted in Mesa for allegedly taking a Kawasaki motorbike from a local dealer, causing $3,500 in damage by letting it fall against a fence as he drunkenly pushed it home.
“He said he was celebrating 4 months of sobriety and decided he wanted a motorcycle,” stated a probable cause statement obtained by The Smoking Gun.
Hanley also told cops he was drunk from vodka and Moscato wine, the papers state.
“The defendant said he was just going to walk it back home and try and start it there,” the documents added, saying Hanley “admitted to stealing the motorcycle” on Feb. 11.
Instead of celebrating, Hanley posed for a mugshot as he was booked into jail after being charged with theft of means of transportation, a class 3 felony, AZFamily said.
