Brexit negotiators are planning to spend the weekend locked in intensive negotiations in advance of an EU leaders summit next week.
The talks — which include British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Irish leader Leo Varadkar — are taking place in the EU capital of Brussels, the Associated Press reported.
The main issue under discussion during the weekend talks is where the final borders of independent Ireland and British Northern Ireland will be drawn, according to the wire service.
Since voting to leave the EU back in 2016, Britain has struggled to come up with a way to exit that is acceptable to both their people and the union.
After losing multiple votes and facing defections from his own party, Prime Minister Johnson has suggested he might just squat in the position even if he suffers a no confidence vote — offering a public challenge to the queen to sack him.
