Bang! Pro golfer Tyrrell Hatton had his putt lined up at the Italian Open when he heard a port-o-potty door slam. Hatton, more teed off than Chris Cuomo, checked his swing and checked to see who the culprit was, only to find out it was his fiancée. Rather than give her a mulligan, he joked, “What are you doing? You should be ashamed.” Incident not expected to put a wedge between them. In fact, the couple is considering honeymooning in Phoenix during the Waste Management Open.
Interesting matchup pits Adam Wainwright against Max Scherzer in Game 2 between the Cardinals and the Nationals. The 38-year-old Wainwright reached back and provided the Cardinals with a vintage performance in Game 3 of the NLDS. Shut out the Braves for 7²/₃ innings in a game eventually won by Atlanta after Cardinals closer Carlos Martinez imploded. Scherzer has been hurt by the first-inning long ball, allowing three homers over two starts. Scherzer settled nicely to shut down the Dodgers offense for the next six innings to win Game 4. He is, however, 0-2 this year facing St. Louis, ERA a hefty 5.27. Play 10 units on the Cards.
Anibal Sanchez was too good. Took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and left after 7 ²/₃ innings with after allowing the Cards just one hit. Nats won the opener, 2-0. Loss takes us to -468 herzogs.
