A New Jersey couple married for 62 years died of coronavirus on the same day in April — and two days after the virus claimed the life of one of their sons.

Larry and Vicki Freda died on April 24 at the ages of 85 and 83, respectively. Their son John died on April 22 at the age of 51.

Gov. Phil Murphy on Wednesday honored the family in a series of tweets.

“We remember Larry and Vicki Freda, and their son, John. One family,” the governor wrote. “Larry and Vicki had been married for 62 years when they passed.”

“Larry and Vicki loved being grandparents, and always had fun. May God bless these three souls,” Murphy said.

The couple had two other sons.

Larry served in the US Army before working for 24 years at the old Pabst Blue Ribbon brewery in Newark, Murphy said.

Vicki for many years worked for the Township of Fairfield, according to her obituary. Her last role there was as executive secretary to the mayor.

Their son John, who had three sons, was a licensed optician in New Jersey, his obituary said.
