Dear John: I am an avid reader of your articles on the economy and also noticed that you help people when they have issues with businesses.

Have you been to Ikinari Steak, where they serve nice meals at reasonable prices? Well I was a big fan until it stole my $51.30 remaining balance after I deposited $100 into its app to be used at its restaurants. I was told it expired.

I originally deposited the money in February 2018, and it “expired” in August 2019. Any chance you can help? P.K.

Dear P.K.: Normally I can’t be bothered with small stuff like $50. But you are talking steaks here, so I broke my rule and got in touch with Ikinari.

The company said this was all a mistake: “We would like to fix this problem. I think there is some misunderstanding between P.K. and us.”

The company’s explanation of the “misunderstanding” was too much for me to handle. I’m still hung over from a huge sirloin I had last night at a different steakhouse.

The restaurant said that it is going to contact you.

Hey, glad I could help. We meat eaters have to stick together in this Beyond Meat day and age.
