Yankees were 7-1 going into Monday night, had 17 home runs and an average body temperature of 98.8 degrees. All good, but not good enough for this screwy season. How about the Marlins clinch the East with a 2-1 record and beat the Blue Jays in the World Series on a snowy night in Buffalo.

Rough weekend in Minnesota for the Indians (are they still called the Indians?), dropping three of four to the Twins. Lack of run production the problem. But they shouldn’t need more than a run or two Tuesday in Cincinnati with Shane Bieber on the hill. Bieber is perfect (did I just type that) through two starts. He’s 2-0, ERA 0.00 and has 27 K’s in 14 scoreless innings. Tyler Mahle takes his turn for the Reds. Made one abbreviated start, allowing the Cubs to score two runs over four innings. Improvement expected in his second start off the layoff against the struggling Tribe, but numbers don’t lie. Mahle went 3-12, ERA 5.14 last year. Reds won for us on Sunday, but we will back the Indians for 20 units.

Amazin! Mets rode a four-run third inning to a 7-2 win in Atlanta. Jacob deGrom finally getting run support. Wilson Ramos and Robby Cano each with 3 RBIs. Win put 50 strawberrys in our wallet now we’re square for the year.
