Former second lady Dr. Jill Biden described it as “hard” to consider Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) a friend now that he’s forged an allegiance with President Donald Trump and vowed to investigate her husband and stepson.

Speaking during an interview Monday with CNN’s “New Day,” Biden said that she and her husband did, in fact, consider the South Carolina Republican to be a friend before their relationship became strained.

“Now,” she says, “he’s changed.”

“Well, you know, Lindsey — I don’t know what happened to Lindsey. And we used to be great friends and friends with John McCain. I mean we traveled together with the [Senate] Foreign Relations Committee,” the wife of 2020 Democratic hopeful Joe Biden added.

When asked by host John Berman if she considered Graham to be a friend these days, the potential first lady described the pain his actions had caused.

“You know, it’s hard when you, I don’t know, consider somebody a friend and then they’ve said so many things, so many negative things. And it’s — that’s been a little hurtful.”

In recent months, Graham has gone on the attack against Joe and Hunter Biden in the wake of the Ukraine scandal that led to Trump’s impeachment.

The senator began publicly supporting Trump’s push for an investigation into Hunter Biden’s questionable business dealings in Ukraine while his father was vice president of the United States.

“Joe Biden is a dear friend,” the Senate Judiciary Committee chairman said to reporters late last month, “[but] his son was receiving $50,000 a month from a gas company run by the most corrupt guy in the Ukraine and about two months after they raided the gas company’s president’s home, they fired the prosecutor.”

“Yeah, I think it’s OK to talk about this kind of stuff.”

When the former VP was asked in November by CNN about Graham requesting State Department documents related to the Bidens’ communications with former Ukrainian and US officials over Burisma, the corrupt Ukrainian gas company, he said he was “embarrassed” for his former friend.

“I say Lindsey, I just — I’m just embarrassed by what you’re doing, for you. I mean, my Lord,” Biden said.

Biden later went on to say that the Senate Republican was “about to go down in a way that I think he’s going to regret his whole life,” by doing Trump’s bidding on Ukraine.

Trump was impeached in the House of Representatives over the withholding of critical military aid and a White House meeting for Ukraine in exchange for the announcement of an investigation into Joe Biden, his chief political rival in the 2020 election.

Trump and his chief allies alleged that they were concerned about corruption involving the Biden’s and Ukraine, which led to them withholding the aid.

When asked by CNN about Graham’s prediction that the Senate would pursue testimony from Hunter Biden in the “coming weeks,” Jill Biden stood by her stepson.

“Hunter has done nothing wrong. Why would Hunter be called? Donald Trump should be before that committee,” she said.

A spokesman for Graham did not respond to The Post’s request for comment on the matter.
