A United Kingdom man has been released from prison after serving four years for battering his abusive father with a hammer, according to a report.
Ben Wilson, 27, was granted release two years early for the January 2015 beatdown that left his father, Craig, with brain damage, the Mirror reported.
Wilson was just 22 years old when he grabbed a hammer to protect his mother, Tracey, from his dad at their Billingham home.
His lawyers’ argued that Wilson snapped from years of “excessive and extreme” abuse at the hands of his father.
Wilson’s release earlier this year comes after his father died by suicide in November 2016, the Mirror reported.
He now is believed to be living with his mom at the home where the attack unfolded more than four years ago.
Photos on social media show the free man taking selfies and hanging out with family members, according to the outlet.
