Stefon Diggs’ bizarre week full of trade rumors culminated with the Vikings wide receiver being active for Sunday’s game against the Giants.
But the 25-year-old was set to play with a lighter wallet. The Vikings fined Diggs more than $200,000 for missing practices and meetings during the week, according to ESPN.
However, unlike in Antonio Brown’s case when his Raiders fines voided his guaranteed money, NFL Network reports Minnesota did not void Diggs’ $40 million in guarantees, the team choosing to not go down that road.
The missed practices led to widespread speculation that Diggs wanted out of Minnesota, and the receiver did not deny that he was upset when speaking to reporters on Thursday, saying there’s “truth to all rumors.”
“I can’t sit up here and act like everything is OK,” he said.
Despite interest from multiple teams, ESPN reports the Vikings likely won’t trade Diggs before the Oct. 29 trade deadline.
